Darkness fell over Castle Town as Raven rode his trusty steed over the drawbridge, as the horse clopped forward at a leisurely pace the knight noticed children running past him wearing colorful masks; he smiled at their playful nature while giving the reigns a quick whip to inform his horse to press on. The normally drab castle walls were decorated with colorful lanterns that lit up the entire court yard chasing away the darkness of the evening and evil spirits; the lanterns each contained a different shade of magical fire designed to ward off poes and all variety of the undead. Dismounting and lashing his horses bridle to the hitching post allowed Raven a moment of pause in which his nose picked up a sweet scent. He pet the mane of his four-legged companion before handing her a carrot, which she devoured quite quickly.
Leaving his horse behind the swordsmen wandered into town his nose following the sweet smell on the air. He was surprised at the festivities taking place when he hit the town square; the entire center was littered with lanterns, loud music was being blared out by a band made up of various races like a goron drummer,Hylian pianist and a Deku guitarist. The whole area was lively as the towns people danced and drank making merry at the various booths and stalls that littered the area, they had games, fresh food and even fortune telling going as a parade ran through the center of town. Raven tapped his foot in delight still following his nose towards the sweet scent, he only took pause when the parade of people dressed as redeads and skeletons crossed his path twirling colorful ribbons and banging on their drums. Letting out a hearty chuckle he clapped his hands along with the music causing the female performers to blush and focus even more on their dancing. After granting the performers praise Raven moved on finally making it to source of the smell, it was a small baked goods stand run by a little old lady; the stall had all kinds of goodies like chocolate snaps and eel pie. The little old lady spoke with a sweet voice to the dashing gentleman in green as he eagerly eyed her wares.
"Hello young man, enjoying the Festival Of The Fallen are you? It's the first year the custom has reached Hyrule you know? It's an old Sheikah tradition that pays tribute to the fallen and helps them become forgotten, so they may pass on to the next world. It's an old ritual used to ward of evil and lingering souls that would seek to harm the living. The children seem unaware of the holiday's practice but they seem to enjoy the sweets and costumes enough. So what can granny get you young man?" She asked pushing her glasses up her nose as Link held onto his chin looking over her prizes. His eyes homed in on the chocolate snaps licking his lips as he pulled out his wallet.
"I'll take the chocolate snaps, please Mam." His large grin emerged at the thought of a delicious desert after all his trouble traveling. The old woman had a twinkle in her eye as she stated the price.
"That'll be fifty rupees!"
Link's smile faded as he raised an eyebrow lowering his wallet. "50 Rupees! Mam I have nothing but respect for your craft but that's outrages. If I wanted to get robbed I could have stayed in Gerudo Town." The old woman crossed her arms and shook her head standing by her price. In time Raven caved in and gave her the money the old woman then handing him the treat he desired. "This better be the best chocolate snap I've her had. For that price." He thought to himself taking a bite; the flavors exploded in his mouth taking him back to days of his childhood when his mother would bake them for him. He thanked the old woman and she merely smiled confident in her skills.
