Soranne walked silently over the bridge leading into Castle Town. She looked up at the sky and breathed in the fresh air, glad to be out on such a wonderful day. She was excited for the Festival, but she felt a slight pang of sadness that she hadn't found anyone to attend it with. All of her friends had been busy with family matters at their own homes. Suddenly, the Hylian girl shook her head, pushing the thought away. She refused to let herself be sad on this joyful day. She sped up her pace and finally reached the gates of the town.
The girl looked around, her dirty-blond hair flying in the slight breeze. All around her, she saw species of every kind celebrating and laughing together. She found the laughter quite contagious, and she even began giggling at nothing in particular. Sora saw many shops that were trying to sell objects such as jewels and pendants, potions and weapons, food and drinks. She checked her wallet and was relieved to find that she had brought some rupees with her. She approached a stall and looked curiously at the colorful masks hanging on the walls. She smiled at the man and pointed to one that was blue, teal, and green, with light blue feathers sticking out of the sides. The man gave it to her to look at, and she turned it around to see the wood on the other side. She put it on briefly before asking the man the price of the beautiful thing.
"That'll be 20 rupees, madam," the man replied with a bright smile.
Sora winced at the price. She had always been low on money, and the amount that she had brought was to cover things she needed at this festival. However, she was supposed to enjoy herself here, so she decided to buy the mask. She handed the man the 20 rupees and thanked him.
She turned back to the merriment and put her mask on, not caring if she looked silly or even scary. Sora looked around at the others and wondered if she would be able to find a friend here that she could talk to. She definitely didn't want to be alone in this big town. Sora entered the crowd and began her mission of seeking a friend.
